Zenith People are working with our client who are a North-East based Manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join them on a permanent basis.As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will expected to positively contribute to the Engineering Department through your Accountabilities whilst leading a team of Shift Engineers across a 24 hour shift pattern to allow them to carry out their role as effectively as possible whilst always striving to reach the highest standards to ensure the site runs efficiently. The role responsibilities:
  • Manage team breaks so that there is maximum engineering coverage on the shop floor at all times.
  • Take ownership of actions that are identified during a PPM, provide appropriate follow up to ensure the closure of outstanding work as quickly as possible i.e. ordering spares, checking stock, planning in remedial work. Continually review PPM’s for their relevance, accuracy and frequency. Feedback any improvements to Management.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Work Tracker for the site
  • Seek to proactively identify improvement projects across site.
  • Participate in annual appraisals for Shift Engineers.
  • Input all relevant information on the Shift Handover sheet to enable effective continuity in ongoing works.
  • Carry out daily checks on Shift Engineers to ensure their personal tool bags/ boxes are accurate, up to date and order ready. Ensure tool boxes and tools are kept in a safe condition.
  • Distribute Planned Works amongst team members. Do everything possible to close off Work Orders and ensure they are closed on Shire upon completion.
  • Liaise with Shift Managers and agree downtime on KPI’s. Fill out the KPI spreadsheet with as much detail as required.
  • Contribute to the engineering training documents, creating OPL’s, SOP’s and WI’s.
  • Aim for 100% completion of reports for all work completed, ensuring that the volume of work completed is suitable for the length of the shift worked. Labour hours must be an honest appraisal of actual work completed.
  • Give a structured report with sufficient detail, including the fault description, diagnosis process, remedial work carried out and/or if any additional work is required.
You are to have a proactive role to take all actions to reduce downtime and increase efficiencies. Ensure that everything has been done to attempt to resolve any issues on site, by investigating all available options to see a task through to completion i.e. searching manuals, contacting OEM’s, searching for parts, internet searches etc. Always demonstrating a “can do” attitude and positive behaviour. The person we’re looking for:
  • Fully Time-served Apprenticeship in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience as a Manager – Managing and leading teams of Maintenance Technicians on shifts
  • Btec or ONC Preferred

Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based in the North East and are looking to recruit an Electrical Biased Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis.The main purpose of the role is to ensure that plant, machinery and equipment are maintained and repaired as required to ensure the effective operation of the Plant.An Electrical bias is required for this role however current day to day activity is currently predominantly mechanical. The role responsibilities:
  • Actively support the Company’s goal to ‘create a zero-injury environment’ and adhere to health and safety requirements
  • Encouraging all site employees to report close calls/near misses
  • Participating in Company safety improvement activities
  • Assisting in the installation of machinery and equipment
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of a range of equipment, including PLC
  • Analysis and resolution of electrical and mechanical faults and repairs
  • Timely response to equipment breakdowns and completion of equipment repairs
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on a range of winders, conveyors and robots in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and Industry/Company practices
  • Accurately recording and communicating maintenance information
  • Effective involvement in continuous improvement activities to achieve results
  • Ability to provide and co-ordinate engineering project support
  • Taking an active involvement in operational improvements, both systems and plant
  • Ability to read and understand Technical drawings
  • Knowledge of computer based maintenance/breakdown recording systems
 2 SHIFT PATTERN – MONDAY TO FRIDAY Breakdown is 6am – 2pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 1pm Friday Late Shifts are 13.50pm to 10.20pm Monday to Thursday and 13.50pm – 4pm Friday NO WEEKEND WORK INVOLVED!!! If you feel that you have the relevant experience and would like to be considered for this vacancy please click apply now.

Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based in the Berwick and are looking to recruit a Mechanical Biased Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis.Working as part of a team, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance along with working on breakdown maintenance.  You will be required to diagnose faults on a range of equipment associated with production and site services, as well as carry out improvements and project work. The role responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate mechanical work, considering factors such as H&S, customer demand, project timelines, and resource availability.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in line with contract requirements and guidelines, including compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
