We are working with our volume manufacturing client in their search for a Systems, Control and Integration Engineer. The successful candidate will have broad based experience in manufacturing, PLC Networking, data systems with the ability to demonstrate proven skills in the application of systems engineering tools and techniques. The role responsibilities:

  • Set & Measure system performance KPIs which are class leading, challenging but achievable.
  • Provide ISIT support of global IT & OT equipment integration, focusing on MES, Traceability, AIoT (smart factory) technology and data logging.
  • BMS/EMS systems support and integration
  • Liaising with outside suppliers or developers to source the most effective hardware or software for the company’s needs.
  • Co-ordination of concern investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Building robust backups that can be assessed in the event of a system failure
  • Confidence, self-motivation and persuasion are necessary skills to ensure engineering requirements are effectively communicated and delivered by the project teams
  • Ability to program state machines for complex process which involve multi-station parallel processing, pick and place automation, data acquisition and PID control. Proven ability to design fault-tolerant system with error handling and recovery.
  • Support new plant and processes installation and integration

 

The Person we’re looking for:

  • Degree / HND and/or 3 years relevant experience
  • Planning, Schedule Control & Project Management
  • Experience of designing and integrating complex data systems
  • Knowledge of SPC and controls is desirable but not essential.
  • Analytical & logical approach to problem solving
  • Good written, verbal communication & negotiation skills
  • Ladder & STL Logic PLCs Programming
  • Experience with Control reliable safety system for safeguarding robots, conveyors and other high-volume manufacturing equipment would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Field bus networks protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, CC-Link) & serial communication (Rs-232, RS-485) between PLCs and equipment instruments.
