Our Client is looking to recruit a Recruitment Consultant to work at its office based in South Shields. This role is responsible for the fulfilment of all apprenticeship vacancies – both for apprenticeships which we will deliver, and for those being recruited on a commercial basis for other providers to deliver. As part of the engagement team, the key aspects of this role will be the generation of apprenticeship candidates through various channels, the building of a candidate database, delivering a timely and effective recruitment process and providing high levels of customer service to both candidates and employers.

The role responsibilities:

· Developing relationships and communicating regularly with referrers including JCP, Connexions, etc. to generate awareness of vacancies and drive applications through referrals

· Working with the marketing team to develop a strong social media presence around our apprenticeship offer – to increase awareness with employers, potential applicants and their parents/carers – to ultimately drive applications

· Utilisation of ‘Get My First Job’ platform – advertising all positions and encouraging potential applicants to register to maximise impact on application levels

· Management of out presence on NAS – advertising all positions and managing applications

· Overseeing advertising of apprenticeship vacancies across all other platforms as required e.g. websites, jobs boards, social media, factsheets, e-shots, newsletters, etc.

· Work with marketing team on other channels of apprenticeship engagement as required e.g. blogs, video content, marketing campaigns, jobs fairs, webinars, podcasts, presentations, etc.

· Liaison with schools across the region to encourage apprenticeship engagement and applications – attending careers sessions, jobs fairs, assemblies, etc. – and circulating information on IAG services and apprenticeship vacancies

· Re-engagement of candidates who have been unsuccessful in securing a particular apprenticeship – building database and offering alternative options – ensuring we are optimising all applicants across all vacancies at all times

· Regular contact with database candidates to maintain engagement

· Prepare and lead awareness sessions as required

· Attend jobs fairs and any other relevant candidate engagement and networking events

· Offer a high-quality level of impartial IAG to candidates

· Utilisation of market intelligence to generate new ideas for improved engagement

· Liaison with employers throughout the engagement and recruitment process to keep them updated with progress on the recruitment of their apprentice(s)

· Initial screening of applications against vacancy specifications

· Interviewing (and testing where required) of potentially suitable apprenticeship applicants – either face to face or via video link

· Matching and shortlisting of candidates for vacancies – presentation of short-listed candidates to employers

· Regular communication with in-process applicants on the progress of their application

· Compliance with all aspects of the recruitment process e.g. receipt of ID, GDPR, etc.

· Utilisation of xx to maintain up to date and complete records as required

· Provision of high quality IAG and sign posting candidate to alternative route if appropriate

· Provision of information to employers on all aspects of apprenticeships as required

· Full job role and process briefing to candidates moving forward to interview along with the provision of recruitment coaching to candidates as required

· Confirmation of recruitment process appointments with both candidates and employers

· Confirmation of offer details, start date, etc., to both employer and candidate

· Working with other team members on larger scale ‘boot camp’ recruitment exercises as required – screening and sourcing suitable for recruitment bootcamps

· Provision of feedback to employers and candidates at all stages of the recruitment process
