We are proudly representing our growing manufacturing client in their search for a Planning Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing production according to demand and quality standards while ensuring goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.   • Plan and maintain schedule for all production lines ensuring utilisation and plan using available resources to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Highlight potential material issues, capacity constraints and any other issues that may affect the customers required delivery date
  • Coordinate with the production team in resolving production planning and control issues
  • Action job cards issued to production while maintaining the current ERP System
  • Raising purchase orders to cover material requirements
  • Purchase against required jobs ensuring all the details are passed on to production and material receipts are labelled with the appropriate job number
  • Ensure sheet stock is available in line with stock policies, process sales orders for group and non-group customers for steel sheet, ensuring that orders are met on time and in full
  • Manage Sub contractors and place orders accordingly
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and procedures, that apply to this role, recommend improvements and changes where required
  • Manage transport function and plan daily transport function.
  • Support Line 1 and 2 planning
  • Determine manpower, equipment and assess raw materials needed to cover demand
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports
  • Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, and other staff
  • Support Materials Manager and Production Planner KPIs


The Person:

  • Proven experience in Supply Chain/Planning, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines, with good time-management and organisational skills
  • Problem solver with strong analytical skills
  • Target driven and customer focussed
  • Excel skills
  • Positive, can-do attitude
